There's some outrage here that's growing...I've been talking to people all over the country about this. Just that it is disgusting that people would create laws to suppress the rights of their fellow countrymen rather than grant them. And that I do not understand why people need to define marriage as strictly between one man and one woman when the bible tells of men with multiple wives so why not legalize polygamy while we're at it. I think we should worship the Greek gods and goddesses who were all bisexual and lovin' life. But that's a tangent. Like I said, nothing original. And another thing. To protect the "sanctity of marriage" why not make marriage counseling free and accessible to any couple who needs it. Why not make getting married (even) more complicated? Why not pass an amendment banning divorce? Why not ban remarriage? Why not ban premarital sex? Or adultery? Throw all those fuckers (pardon the pun) in jail. Unfortunately, that's pretty much what he had to say if he wanted to become president. I think he's more of an ally than McCain, but if change is going to happen, it's got to be a movement from the ground up rather than the top down. Obama opposed the federal proposition to redefine marriage as between only a man and a woman, and he opposed proposition 8, but he's not going to push for gay marriage unless the rest of America does as well.
